What is it?
The TrailingStop EA is a trading Expert Advisor (EA) that works on the MetaTrader 4 platform helping you protect your profits and minimize losses.
How this EA works:
When you attach it to a chart, it does two main things:
It adjusts your stop-loss automatically, trailing it behind the price as it moves in your favor.
You can set a "ProfitTarget" to close all trades once you reach a specific profit goal. Cool, right?
Getting Started:
Download the "TrailingStop.mq4" file.
Open your MetaTrader 4 platform.
Go to "File" -> "Open Data Folder."
Inside the "MQL4" folder, paste the downloaded "TrailingStop.mq4" file into the "Experts" folder.
Restart MetaTrader 4.
Now, you can find "TrailingStop" in the Navigator panel on the left.
Adjustable Parameters:
AllPositions: True (modify all positions) or False (modify only current chart positions).
ProfitTrailing: Trail only positions in profit (True or False).
ProfitTarget: Set a profit goal to close all trades (0 to disable).
TrailingStop: Minimum is 5, adjust to your preference.
TrailingStep: Another trailing parameter, leave it at 1 for now.
UseSound: True (enable sound alerts) or False (disable sound).
NameFileSound: Sound file name for alerts (if you enable sound).
Optimal Settings:
Currency Pair: Any, but EUR/USD is popular
Minimum Balance: $500 (suggested)
Time Frame: 1-hour (H1) or 4-hour (H4) charts
Parameters:
AllPositions: true
ProfitTrailing: false
ProfitTarget: 0
TrailingStop: 35
TrailingStep: 1
UseSound: false
NameFileSound: "expert.wav"
Use "AllPositions" to manage all your trades.
Set "TrailingStop" to 35 for a good starting point.
Keep "ProfitTrailing" as False to trail all trades.
If you want to use "ProfitTarget," set it to your profit goal (e.g., 100 for $100).
