The main strategy behind ea_DivergenceTrader_Ron_MT4_v05.mq4 Forex EA is based on "divergence."
In trading, divergence occurs when the price of a currency pair moves in the opposite direction of an indicator, like moving averages. When this happens, it can be a sign that a trend reversal is on the horizon.
This EA looks for divergence between two moving averages: a fast one and a slow one. It checks whether the divergence is within certain predefined limits. If the conditions for a trade are met, it can either buy (long) or sell (short) a currency pair.
To use this EA, you need to attach it to your forex trading chart on the MetaTrader platform. Then, you can adjust some settings like the lot size (how much you want to trade), slippage (how much price movement you're willing to tolerate before entering a trade), and other parameters.
Let's go over the settings parameters for the "Divergence Trader" EA, along with some example settings:
Lots: This parameter determines how many lots (or contracts) you want to trade at a time. For example, if you set it to 0.1, you'll be trading 0.1 lots, which is equivalent to 10,000 units of the base currency.
Example: Lots = 0.1
Slippage: Slippage is the maximum number of pips you're willing to tolerate as the difference between the expected price and the actual execution price of your trade.
Example: Slippage = 2
Fast_Period: This setting represents the period for the faster moving average used in the divergence calculation.
Example: Fast_Period = 7
Fast_Price: It defines the price type for the fast moving average (e.g., Open, Close, High, Low).
Example: Fast_Price = PRICE_OPEN
Slow_Period: This is the period for the slower moving average in the divergence calculation.
Example: Slow_Period = 88
Slow_Price: Similar to Fast_Price, this setting specifies the price type for the slow moving average.
Example: Slow_Price = PRICE_OPEN
DVBuySell: It's the threshold for identifying when to consider buying or selling based on divergence.
Example: DVBuySell = 0.0011
DVStayOut: This sets the threshold for when to stay out of the market due to divergence.
Example: DVStayOut = 0.0079
ProfitMade: You can specify how much profit you expect to make before considering closing a trade.
Example: ProfitMade = 0
LossLimit: This parameter defines the maximum loss you're willing to tolerate before closing a trade.
Example: LossLimit = 0
TrailStop: If you want to use a trailing stop, you can set it here. A value of 9999 means no trailing stop.
Example: TrailStop = 9999
PLBreakEven: This sets the number of pips at which you want to move your stop loss to breakeven. 9999 means no breakeven.
Example: PLBreakEven = 9999
StartHour: You can specify the local time when you want the EA to start making trades.
Example: StartHour = 0
StopHour: Similarly, this parameter determines when the EA should stop making trades based on your local time.
Example: StopHour = 24
BasketProfit: It's the equity level at which you want to close all open trades in profit.
Example: BasketProfit = 75
BasketLoss: If your equity reaches a negative level, you can use this parameter to close all trades.
Example: BasketLoss = 9999
FileData: This is a boolean (true/false) setting. If set to true, the EA will write data to a file for analysis.
Example: FileData = false
