CollectData.mq4 is a straightforward, non-trading MT4 script designed for the purpose of recording real-time market data for further analysis.
This EA is designed to record real-time bid and ask prices for any selected Forex symbol, logging them in a CSV file. It's perfect for traders who want to analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions. The EA operates by capturing the current bid and ask prices every time it runs, providing a comprehensive data set for further analysis.
How This EA Works: CollectData EA initiates by creating or opening a CSV file named "Data_[Symbol].csv," where [Symbol] represents the current trading pair. This file is set up to allow both reading and writing. Each time the EA runs, it appends a new line to this file, recording the current time (down to seconds) along with the current bid and ask prices. This process enables continuous data collection for as long as the EA is active, allowing traders to gather extensive price data for their chosen currency pair.
Setup Guidance:
Download the mq4 file for CollectData EA.
Place it in the "Experts" folder of your MetaTrader 4 installation.
Restart MetaTrader 4 to load the EA.
Attach the EA to the chart of the desired currency pair.
