Is forex a matter of skill or luck?
I think forex is more a matter of skills than luck, though luck will be an added bonus for the forex trader. If a forex trader depends only on luck for trading, he or she will likely lose money in the long run. Luck can bring profits for the short run, but not the long run. If the trader depends on skill, then he or she will make profits in the long run.

To me, forex is simple math. The better your risk to reward is, you do not need to worry about winning all the time. Less stress. If you risk to reward is not good, you need to make sure you are hitting a large number of trades. I guess none of that is math I suppose.
I started out with Binary Options and people said it was just about gambling. But Forex is also gambling and so is the stock market. There is none who can tell you what will happen. It's all about luck. But usually you can avoid bad things if you read the news and don't trade too quick. I have stocks that I'm trading for months. So I guess trading Forex is better on the daily chart. The quick ones down at 5 minutes are more about luck (if you're not a scalper of course).
Luck is wrong word...
A lot of different reasons have influence on mowement of price at forex . As much of these proceses you understand and can a little bit predict - as better your result should be. And money management and cold mind are important as well! Both things coming after long praktice and several loses...
