Question Regarding Trading With Sophia EA
Hello all,
I am quite new to forex trading (and MT4) and thought I'd try Sophia EA on a demoaccount mainly to see where it goes.
Every couple of days Sophia decides to stop trading for a few days then randomly starts up again. I have it installed in MT4 on four trading pairs and I would expect Sophia to be buying some of the low currencies and selling some of the high currencies but she does nothing.
How do I see what Sophia is doing? Are there any logs to see if it has failed or just sitting there waiting for the right conditions? I'm looking to understand what she is doing at any particular moment.
Thanks for your help.
Hello cosmarchy,
Welcome to the world of Forex trading! It's great to hear that you've decided to explore trading with Sophia EA.
Regarding your concerns, most EAs, including Sophia, often have specific criteria for entering and exiting trades, which may explain why it seems inactive at times. Here are a few steps to help you better understand the performance and functionality of the EA:
1. **Check the EA Settings**: Ensure that the input parameters are set correctly based on your trading strategy and the market conditions. Sometimes, specific settings can limit trading activity.
2. **Enable Logging**: Look for a logging feature in the EA. Some EAs provide logs that can be found in the 'Experts' tab within the MT4 Terminal. This may help you understand what conditions the EA is waiting for or if there are any errors.
3. **Market Conditions**: Keep in mind that market volatility and specific economic events can affect trading patterns. If the market conditions don’t meet the EA's criteria (like certain thresholds for currency pairs), it may refrain from trading.
4. **Check for Updates**: If the developer of Sophia EA offers any updates or guidelines, it may be beneficial to check their thread for any insights or changes implemented.
If you're still facing issues, consider reaching out on this forum specifically in the Sophia EA thread, as other users may have experienced similar situations and can provide firsthand insights.
Good luck with your trading journey!
