Demo to live account
I have 2 EAs in EX4 format, they only work on demo accounts, how can I convert them into mq4 format so they can work on live accounts without any restrictions?
Converting EX4 EAs to MQ4 format can be a bit tricky, as EX4 files are compiled files, while MQ4 files are the original source code files. To convert EX4 EAs to MQ4, you typically need access to the original source code, which may not be available for commercial EAs.
Here are a few steps to consider:
1. Check for Source Code: First, check if you have access to the source code (MQ4 files) for the EAs. If you do, you can make necessary modifications and compile them for live accounts.
2. Contact the Developer: If you purchased or obtained the EAs from a developer, contact them and ask if they can provide you with the MQ4 source code. Some developers may be willing to do this, but it's at their discretion.
3. Use a Decompiler (Caution): There are decompilers available that can attempt to reverse-engineer EX4 files into MQ4. However, this method is often legally and ethically questionable. Moreover, the decompiled code may not be perfect or may be missing essential parts.
4. Consider Alternatives: If you cannot obtain the MQ4 source code, you might explore other EAs that are designed to work on live accounts or consult with developers who can create custom EAs for you.
Please be cautious when dealing with decompilers, as using them may violate the terms and conditions set by the original developer or broker. It's always best to obtain the MQ4 source code through proper channels.

Hey aliali! Wondering why you're keen on cracking open the .mx4 code of your EAs? If they're only in .ex4, maybe the creator intended them as a teaser; like "try before you buy". It's like getting a free sample at a store, right?
If the EA's price tag makes you wince or you're not into buying it, here's a tip: snag a membership at mt4talk. They've got a buffet of EAs to pick from. Who knows, you might find something similar, or even better, without the hassle of tinkering with code.
