_i_MACD.mq4 Forex EA
This EA focuses on the MACD indicator, which stands for Moving Average Convergence Divergence.
The MACD indicator helps us understand the trend direction of a currency pair. This EA uses it to make trading decisions.
Here's how it works:
Fast and Slow EMA: The EA uses two Exponential Moving Averages (EMA), one fast and one slow. EMA is like a smoothed average of the currency's price over a specific period. The fast EMA looks at the last 12 periods, while the slow one looks at the last 26.
Signal Line: It also calculates a Signal Line, which is a Simple Moving Average (SMA) of the MACD values calculated from the fast and slow EMAs. The EA uses a 9-period SMA for this.
Histogram: The difference between the MACD and the Signal Line is calculated, and this difference is displayed as a histogram on your trading chart. The histogram helps you see the momentum of the price movement.
Now, how do you set it up, you ask? Well, here's a simple step-by-step guide:
Install the EA: Make sure you have MetaTrader 4 installed on your computer. Then, copy and paste the provided code into the MetaEditor and compile it.
Attach to Chart: Open your desired currency pair chart on MetaTrader 4. Drag and drop the EA onto the chart.
Configure Parameters: You can customize some settings like the Fast EMA, Slow EMA, and Signal SMA. These are the parameters that determine the EA's strategy. You might want to test different values to see what works best for your trading style.
Enable Live Trading: To let the EA make trades automatically, ensure that the "AutoTrading" button is activated on the top toolbar. Also, make sure your broker allows automated trading.
