5M SCALP FIX.mq4 Forex EA attempts to profit from short-term price movements in the Forex market by executing buy and sell orders based on changes in the closing prices of a currency pair. It uses predefined settings such as Take Profit, Stop Loss, and Trailing Stop to manage its trades.
To set up the EA, you would need to:
Attach it to a chart of the currency pair you want to trade.
Adjust the input parameters like risk percentage, Take Profit, Lots, Trailing Stop, Stop Loss, Pips, and Perc to your preferred settings.
Ensure that your trading account has enough margin to support the EA's trading activity.
Parameters:
Risk: This setting determines how much of your trading account's equity you're willing to risk on each trade. It's specified as a percentage. For example, if you set it to 1%, the EA will risk 1% of your account balance on each trade.
Take Profit: This is the target profit level for each trade, measured in pips. A pip is a small unit of price movement in the Forex market. If you set it to 30 pips, the EA will aim to make a profit of 30 pips on each trade.
Lots: This represents the size of each trade. It's like choosing how many shares to buy in the stock market. If you set it to 1 lot, it means you're trading a standard-sized contract. You can adjust this to control the trade's size.
Trailing Stop: The trailing stop is a feature that helps protect your profits. It's set in pips as well. If you set it to 99 pips, the stop loss will move up or down as the trade goes in your favor, locking in profits if the market reverses.
Stop Loss: This is a safety net to limit potential losses. It's also set in pips. If you set it to 17 pips, the trade will automatically close if it goes against you by 17 pips, helping to prevent larger losses.
Pips: This parameter represents the minimum price movement required for the EA to take action. It's important for determining when to enter or exit trades. For example, if you set it to 16 pips, the EA will only consider trading if there's a price movement of at least 16 pips.
Perc: This setting is related to position sizing. It's used to calculate the lot size based on your risk percentage. For example, if you set it to 5%, and your account equity is $10,000, the EA will calculate the lot size to risk 5% of that amount on a trade.
How the EA Works:
Initialization: The EA starts by initializing some parameters like risk, Take Profit, Lots (trade size), Trailing Stop, Stop Loss, Pips, and Perc.
Checking for Adequate Bars: It checks if there are enough historical price bars (candlesticks) available for analysis. If there are fewer than 10 bars, the EA will not trade, as it needs sufficient data to make informed decisions.
Account Check: The EA verifies if there are any open orders in the account. If there are no open orders, it checks if there is enough free margin in the trading account to open a new trade. If not, it will not proceed.
Calculating Lot Size: It calculates the lot size (trade size) based on the defined risk percentage of the account equity. This calculation helps control the size of each trade relative to the account's available funds.
Buy and Sell Conditions: The EA analyzes the previous closing prices of the currency pair. If the previous closing price is higher than the one before it (Close[1] > Close[2]), it generates a buy signal. If the previous closing price is lower than the one before it (Close[1] < Close[2]), it generates a sell signal.
Placing Orders: If a buy signal is generated, the EA sends a buy order to the market with specified parameters, including the lot size, ask price, and stop loss. Similarly, for a sell signal, it sends a sell order with the lot size, bid price, and stop loss.
Managing Open Trades: The EA monitors open trades. If it identifies an open buy trade and specific conditions are met (e.g., a time-based exit or a minimum profit condition), it closes the buy trade. The same applies to open sell trades.
Trailing Stop: The EA incorporates a trailing stop feature, which allows it to adjust the stop loss level as the trade moves in favor of the trader. This helps lock in profits and limit potential losses.
